The ionization process used in the facility consists of exposing the products to be treated to gamma radiation emitted by a Cobalt-60 source for a limited duration.
Gamma treatment
The photons emitted have two energy levels: 1.17 and 1.33 MeV.
These gamma rays enable the sterilization of medical equipment, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products. The source is permanently in the treatment position, i.e., held in the air in the treatment cell.
An automatic system feeds the products into the irradiation cell, then passes them in front of the radiation source according to a defined circuit and at an appropriate speed, before removing them from the cell.
